Dana White is the main man behind the global success of UFC as a premier MMA promotion. However, White’s life doesn’t necessarily revolve around this one sport. For a long time, White has been a huge fan of basketball, and Michael Jordan is one of his biggest idols.
Dana White recently sat down with popular journalist Tucker Carlson for an interview where they talked about a variety of topics. While talking about the NBA, White shared his immense love for the ‘GOAT’ Michael Jordan. However, the UFC CEO also shared his weird decision to not meet Jordan ever.
I have never met Michael Jordan and I don’t wanna meet Michael Jordan. I don’t never wanna meet him. I’m the biggest Michael Jordan fan ever of his mentality. I like killers and Michael Jordan was a killer.

White has always liked people who have a great mentality, especially in sports, and Jordan was famous for that. White also shared that he’s a huge supporter of the Boston Celtics and often travels to watch their match live. He further talked about how the NBA has gone softer, which has affected its ratings over the last few years.

Jordan in his prime was ruthless and was infamous for his obsession with winning. He wanted to win and as a result, kept everybody in his team in check. While Jordan motivated many, he also had certain flaws—some of which even White shared with the legend.
Dana White and Michael Jordan’s only vice
Michael Jordan‘s gambling addiction was a well-known aspect of his life, raising concerns about its impact on his career and legacy. Despite his competitive nature, his high-stakes gambling habits led to speculation about financial losses and potential distractions from his basketball success. While Jordan denied any serious issues, his gambling controversies fueled debates about the pressures of fame and personal responsibility.

Similarly, White is also known for his affinity toward gambling, which many close to him, including Joe Rogan, have talked about. White likes to play hard and win big; however, it has led to some serious losses. In an interview, he talked about how he lost $3 million while drunk gambling.
One night I’m over at the Rio and they’ve got big suites over there, so I go over there with some buddies….we have some dinner and we start drinking…..I wake up the next morning, I’m like, ‘F***. Those m*********** got me for 80,000 last night…. I said, ‘No, I don’t need the room, but don’t get too comfortable with my f****** 80 grand, I’m coming back for it.’ Dead f****** silence on the other end of the phone….And he’s like, ‘Dana. You lost $3 million last night.

Despite his gambling losses, White doesn’t seem to be bothered given his incredible revenue streams. In his 50s, White is a multimillionaire and plans to stick around in the fighting business for as long as he can. Going forward, he also has incredible plans for the future of UFC.
