Jon Jones is perhaps the best MMA fighter in history. The current heavyweight champion has been in multiple wars and is regarded as having the highest fight IQ in MMA. Jones has amassed a massive fan base over the years as a result of his performances, but UFC CEO, Dana White may be one of his biggest supporters.
Dana White and Jon Jones have worked with each other for years now and seem to have a great collaborative relationship. During his recent interview with Shannon Sharpe, White talked about Jones fighting Stipe Miocic and then moving on to Tom Aspinall. According to White, Jones would also beat the light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira with ease.
If Jon Jones beats Stipe then Aspinall. He's gonna come out and fight Stipe and the fact that he could fight Aspinall, it's unbelievable…. Pereira is amazing, I think Jon Jones walks through everybody.Dana White via Club Shay Shay YouTube channel
After getting the UFC heavyweight title on his first try, Jon Jones wanted to defend it against division legend, Stipe Miocic at UFC 295. However, before the fight, Jones suffered a pectoral injury and had to pull out. However, ‘Bones’ is adamant about fighting Miocic next no matter how much time it takes. This has attracted a lot of criticism from Tom Aspinall who accused Jones of ducking him.
This narrative gained further momentum when Jones showed his intentions to fight Alex Pereira. Jones claimed the Brazilian to be a bigger draw than Aspinall, who is expected to defend his interim title next at UFC 304 in Manchester. However, it seems like Jones is still mad at the British superstar.
Jon Jones slams Tom Aspinall over online feud
Tom Aspinall is making waves in the UFC heavyweight division and currently holds the interim championship title. After Aspinall blamed Jon Jones for holding the division and not fighting him, many fans criticized the fighter online. Surprisingly, Jones was observed arguing with random fans on the internet.
Jones recently took to X and criticized Aspinall’s fight with Curtis Blaydes where the Brit injured his knee. According to Jones, even before the injury, Aspinall was getting outstruck by Blaydes.
Even the moment his knee popped he was getting punched in the face. I’m just calling what I see. The fans get so impressed with the new guy, I look at was actually happening. I look at the tactics. I don’t hop on the train and get hyped like everyone elseJon Jones via X
After Jones’s recent behavior, his old rival and former UFC champion, Daniel Cormier called him insecure. However, it doesn’t affect Dana White who is still the biggest fan of Jones and considers him the pound-for-pound king despite his inactivity.
