The 2024 All-Star race at North Wilkesboro witnessed one of the most dramatic moments of the season. JTDG Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. landed huge punch on RCR veteran Kyle Busch’s face during a heated confrontation, and caused a dramatic moment with crews and Stenhouse’s father involved. The confrontation was a result of the latter wrecking the former on lap two.
Though it gave a lot of spotlights to the sport, NASCAR didn’t take the fight lightly and gave hefty fines for it. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was fined $75K, his crew member who was involved in the fight is suspended for eight races and Stenhouse’s father is suspended for an indefinite period of time for his involvement as well.

Many including NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. was surprised about the severity of the penalty. Trackhosue Racing’s Mexican driver Dainiel Suarez was one of them and he didn’t hesitate to show his dislike of it. He called out NASCAR for still finalizing Stenhouse Jr. despite using the fight footage as a marketing tool.
If it’s so wrong then why is it all over NASCAR social channels? We should be allowed to show our emotions, I don’t get it…Daniel Suarez wrote on X.

JRM team owner has the same question to NASCAR
The co-owner JR Motorsports and the sister of Dale Jr., Kelly Earnhardt was one of the first to endorse Suarez’ points. She pointed out that she also has the same question as to why NASCAR fined them this high despite exploiting the fight for marketing.
I just said the same thing to a friend Daniel! Nascar has exploited the hell out of it and then this???Kelly Earnhardt replied to Daniel Suarez.

Suarez and Earnhardt are spot on the penalty being too severe. NASCAR should look into reducing it for Stenhouse Jr. But at the same time his crew and his dad’s penalty are kind of valid, as regardless of how emotional they were, they shouldn’t be involved in a fight between drivers.
