WWE blew it out of the park by booking the state-of-the-art Intuit Dome in LA for its premiere of Raw on Netflix. A long list of celebrities graced the occasion, including Danielle Fishel and her husband, Will Friedle. The Boy Meets World star recounted her exhilarating experience on the Pod Meets World podcast.
Speaking on the show, she couldn’t keep herself from fangirling over The Rock. Fishel and Friedle were sitting four rows back and could vividly see whatever was happening in the ring. The 43-year-old actress painted herself as a massive fan of The Great One. It was he only who injected pro-wrestling into her veins.
Rock’s influence on her can be deduced from an instance she cited from her acting career. In 2000, Danielle was starring in a film named Rocket’s Red Glare. At that point, she was obsessed with The Brahma Bull’s iconic left eyebrow-raising pose. However, Fischel was perturbed as she couldn’t quite nail it.
Her makeup artist on the set of the movie asked Fishel to train herself. She suggested the actress to look into the mirror and keep telling herself that she has to do it only with her left eyebrow. As a result, Fishel repeated the process on a daily basis while getting her makeup done. She’s proud of herself as she has perfected it now, and that’s because of The Rock.
Apart from the Black Adam star, Fishel’s fandom for CM Punk knows no bounds. Danielle mentioned it in her Instagram post that she’s a Punk admirer for life. Elsewhere in the aforementioned podcast, the actress stated that she’s been quite on-and-off with WWE over the past decade. Back when it was WWF, she was completely into it.
What did The Rock do on the Netflix premiere of Raw?
The version of The Rock that the fans witnessed on Raw last week was a far cry from The Final Boss. He was Dwayne Johnson, a Hollywood megastar, welcoming the lapsed fans and the new ones too in the Netflix era of WWE.
The 52-year-old seemingly mended fences with longtime rival Cody Rhodes, and it irked the diehard WWE followers. A year’s worth of storyline was flushed down the toilet. Rock and Cody were penciled in for a match at WrestleMania 41. However, that’s not happening anymore.
Apart from it, Rock bestowed the Ula Fala on Roman Reigns after he regained it from Solo Sikoa. The word within WWE is that Rock vs. Reigns isn’t dead and can pick up in the future. There’s no word on if The People’s Champ will even appear at WrestleMania this year.
