Darren Till vs Marvin Vettori on the 10th of April is cancelled; Kevin Holland to step in!
Darren Till vs Marvin Vettori – the high-voltage middleweight bout which was scheduled to take place on the 10th of April has been cancelled after Darren Till suffered a training injury. The match was very highly anticipated, as all eyes were on Darren Till, since Israel Adesanya claimed that he would fight him if he (Till) managed to beat Marvin Vettori.
And now, more news claim that Kevin Holland has decided to step in, to face Marvin Vettori after the UFC offered him to take the fight on short notice. The news was first reported by Ariel Helwani of ESPN MMA.
‘A final decision hasn’t been made as to whether or not they will go in that direction‘ – Ariel Helwani
Helwani captioned his Instagram post, “This just in. The UFC has offered Kevin Holland the fight on short notice and Holland has agreed to it, sources say, though a final decision hasn’t been made as to whether or not they will go in that direction.“
Darren Till hasn’t fought since his loss to Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night in July, last year. He has been struggling to find his form, as he has just won one out of his last four fights. And now it looks like he will have to wait much longer, before he attempts to go on an upward surge in the middleweight division.
Marvin Vettori, on the other hand, is coming off a war against Jack Hermansson in December, last year. He is on a four match win streak, and the number 6 ranked middleweight looks like he would be paired against number 10 ranked Kevin Holland, who is just coming off a unanimous decision loss against Derek Brunson, at the recently concluded fight night.
