Mikel Arteta‘s decision to ‘sacrifice’ Aaron Ramsdale for David Raya initially confused many. While fans opined that Ramsdale was up there with the best in terms of shot-stopping, others were excited to see how his decision would play out in the remainder of the season. As the Premier League season nears its close, David Raya has been awarded the Golden Glove for the 2023/24 season!

A supporter commented that Raya winning the glove put an end to all the criticism that Mikel Arteta got when he benched Ramsdale mid-season. The fan opined that Raya’s case was the best example of trusting the process.
