Carolina Marin vs Nozomi Okuhara: Match Preview
Both Carolina Marin and Nozomi Okuhara have been former world number one. Carolina is the gold medallist from Rio Olympics 2016 while Okuhara has been the bronze medallist from the same. Both players head into the finals of the Denmark Open 2020 confidently. This, of course, is the first tournament after the All England in March 2020, so it really is quite difficult to comment on their form with respect to the recent past.
- Nozomi Okuhara has not dropped a single game at the Denmark Open.
- Carolina Marin dropped a game to the sixth seed Beiwen Zhang in the quarter-final.

Although the Spaniard might have dropped a game against Beiwen in a match that should have been straight sets, and Marin seeming slower on the court she holds a better record against the Japanese. She also has an advantage of European home-ground.
Carolina Marin vs Nozomi Okuhara: Match Prediction
It is a difficult prediction to make. Especially given the lockdown, close head-to-head and brilliant performances in the tournament, it is difficult to predict a clear winner. It is likely to be a closely contested match. Both players are fast and can play at a good pace. Marin if an attacker, Okuhara has a strong defence. Both have supreme fitness levels and can sustain long rallies. But also, Okuhara is more likely to favour longer rallies with her defensive style of play and Marin would look to keep up pace and attack. Marin, having never won the title at Denmark would be extra-motivated to win over here, at Odense.
Carolina Marin could be a probable winner.
