On the latest edition of Raw, Becky Lynch invoked her rematch clause against Liv Morgan. The new champion defended her title against The Man in a main event Steel Cage match. Similar to King and Queen of the Ring, Dominik Mysterio once again got himself involved in the match. And yet again, he inadvertently cost Lynch the match. More importantly, the latter suffered a loss in what may be her final WWE match.
As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Big Time Becks hasn’t extended her contract as of now. Moreover, Lynch’s current deal is set to expire by this weekend. Therefore, the main event on Raw was definitely her final match of her ongoing contract. Nonetheless, it seems that the veteran will be taking an extended break from wrestling.
Following her loss at WrestleMania, reports stated that Becky Lynch would be absent from television. However, Rhea Ripley‘s injury seemingly led WWE to cut her break short and bring her back. The 37-year-old would become the Women’s World Champion by winning a battle royal for the vacant title. As mentioned above, she lost it against Morgan in her first title defense at King and Queen of the Ring.
Despite not re-signing yet, many fans expect Lynch to stay with the promotion. Further, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her sign a new contract that makes her the highest-earning women’s wrestler in the world. The Irish-born wrestler’s husband, Seth Rollins, recently extended his contract with WWE amid his own hiatus from the sport.
Who can step up in Becky Lynch’s absence on Raw?
Monday Night Raw has lost another top star in the women’s division in the form of Becky Lynch. While the exact return dates of both Rhea Ripley and Lynch are unknown, it’s safe to assume that it might be a while. Hence, WWE will require a lot of star power to fill the boots of the former world champions.
Liv Morgan, who’s the current top star on the brand, will surely be busy with Judgment Day business after what transpired last night. In addition to that, Lyra Valkyria can utilize her momentum to become a certified main eventer on Raw.
Meanwhile, Iyo Sky and Damage CTRL will definitely be valuable in the absence of Lynch and Ripley. For weeks now, WWE has been teasing a babyface run for the Genius of the Sky. Therefore, she can be a worthy contender for Morgan’s title in the foreseeable future.
