“Did Poki reach out to you?” Fans ask Valkyrae about the Agonizing RFLCT controversy

Valkyrae and Pokimane
Last year near October Valkyrae was on top of streaming news for one thing and one thing only, the RLFCT controversy that she was a part of. On her stream, the chat asked her a lot of questions about it including which of her fellow streamers reached out to her. One such member on the list included Pokimane and Rae had a few comments for her fellow streamer that threw some subtle shade in her direction. Many streamers had reacted to this controversy as well, some of whom were Valkyrae’s friends whom she streamed with regularly.
What was the RFLCT controversy she was part of?
In October 2021 Valkyrae did an advertisement for her own skincare brand called RFLCT. She had been working on it for the past two years and finally announced it in a now-deleted tweet on Twitter. The product was specifically designed for streamers in mind, it claimed to protect its user from the harmful blue light that gets produced by the computer screen.
When she announced the product it stirred controversy as fans pointed out the lack of research done on her part before launching this product. Others were on the more extreme end of things and accused her of scamming her audience by marketing through false advertisment.
After the controversy had reached its peak Valkyrae issued a statement saying that the hate given to the product was warranted and that she should’ve done more research before launching the product for the same.

What did fans ask Valkyrae on her stream?
The Controversy stirred up quite the drama with some streamers taking Valkyrae’s side and others criticizing her decisions. “A lot of people said that I am doing it for money” she said, then stated that she sits home all day and it is not in her character to want money because she has no reason to spend it.
“Did Pokimane reach out to you?” One member in here chat asked. “It was interesting seeing which friends reached out to me when” Valkyrae replied to the question. She said that a lot of her friends reached out to her when she put up the voice note on Twitter and the rest reached out to her when she said she’d be talking about them in social media. It seems Valkyrae managed to deduce that the latter category of people reached out to her out of a PR concern and not because she was a genuine friend for them.
“I love Leslie” she replied to someone who asked a question about Fuslie, “Leslie cared”. “Sydney as well, Sydney reached out publically” she added and proceeded to thank the controversy because it made her realise who her real friends were.

How did Pokimane reply to her?
“So from my perspective” Pokimane said trying to hide her clear annoyance. She later stated that if there was anything between her and Valkyrae she’d rather deal with it in private. Her public shade-throwing was clearly the source of Pokimane’s annoyance as Poki is known to be a private person.
“I wasn’t on social media when she posted her Thingy” Pokimane said adding that her friend was on town so she didn’t see Valkyrae’s voice note on Twitter. “She never responded to me so I figured she was going through quite a bit” she said hinting that she had messaged Valkyrae regarding the controversy.
Valkyrae and Pokimane put out their perspectives for the gaming community. We may never know if they are both lying or telling the truth, but it is certain that the RFLCT controversy is going to be a small footnote in Valkyrae’s streaming career.
