Garcia and De La Hoya have maintained a close relationship for many years. Golden Boy Promotions signed ‘KingRy’ when he was only 17 years old. Since then, the two have developed a strong camaraderie, with De La Hoya often taking on the role of a mentor to Garcia.

Despite Garcia’s involvement in various controversial activities, his promoter has remained calm and supportive. The Olympic gold medalist has backed the young boxer on his journey to become a boxing legend.

Ryan Garcia once boasted an impressive boxing record with no losses. However, everything changed after his fight against Gervonta Davis, where he lost his perfect win streak. In April 2024, ‘KingRy’ faced his undefeated fellow countryman, Devin Haney. Interestingly, although Garcia initially won against Haney, the result was later declared a no contest.

Despite this setback, the 26-year-old American boxer is still recognized as one of the most technically skilled fighters, known for his quick hands.
