Dillon Brooks and the Phoenix Suns were left absolutely livid with the officiating after game two against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder came out on top with a 120-107 victory over the Suns at the Paycom Center on Wednesday night. The win gave the defending champions a 2-0 lead in the series.
The Suns expressed their dissatisfaction with the refereeing. Devin Booker lashed out at an official for his odd technical foul call. Brooks also shared his thoughts on the officiating after the game.
Little frail. That’s what the refs are going to call. I got to be smarter about it, but this is the playoffs, a man’s game.

Dillon Brooks has been a revelation for the Phoenix Suns this season. There weren’t many expectations from the Suns heading into the 2025-26 campaign after trading away Kevin Durant in the offseason. However, acquiring Brooks has worked wonders for the franchise so far this season.
The Canadian international is having his best season in the NBA. He has grown into one of the best two-way players in the league, and many vouched for him to earn his maiden All-Star appearance this year. While that did not happen, he did lead his team to the playoffs this year.
Brooks is often regarded as the “villain” of the NBA today. He has a reputation for getting under his opponents’ skin and has been guilty of a few questionable plays throughout his career. But that has never stopped the Suns forward from holding himself back on or off the court.
Dillon Brooks compares today’s game to the past eras
There is a significant difference in how the game is played in the regular season and the playoffs in the NBA. The tempo of the game changes, defenses are more physical, and pressure is immense. However, Brooks has been far from happy about how things have been so far in the playoffs.
The 30-year-old compared defending in today’s era with that in the past.
When I used to watch this back when Michael Jordan was playing, or whoever else, when LeBron (James) was younger, it was physical basketball. I don’t get why all the falling, the flopping and flailing and all this stuff is allowed when we get to the playoffs.

Game 2 had multiple questionable calls, especially the technical foul on Booker in the third quarter. But the Suns did lose their composure more often than not and will need to be locked in for games three and four.
Phoenix Suns-Oklahoma City Thunder series moves to Phoenix
The defending champions have got the start that they wanted. A 35-point win in game one and a 13-point game win in game two despite a fourth-quarter fight from the Suns. In the first two games, the Thunder have shown why they are the heavy favorites to go back-to-back this year.

Dillon Brooks was impressive in game two as he scored a team-high 30 points and was efficient from the field. The Suns will need more from their two primary scorers, Devin Booker and Jalen Green.
The season is on the line for the Suns heading into game three in Phoenix. They have two days to recover and to get over the officiating and the two losses. If the Suns don’t win game three, they are at risk of getting swept in the first round.
