Obscurity continues to shield the WrestleMania status of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the latest report isn't too promising.

DISAPPOINTING update on WrestleMania 41 plans for The Rock despite his previous rebuttal

A couple of months ago, The Rock stopped by the Bad Blood PLE in Atlanta to remind everyone that The Final Boss has everyone in check. That one-off appearance, though totally unexpected, assured the fans that he’d be coming back soon, if not immediately. However, something has seemingly changed on that front.

Per Dr. Chris Featherstone of SK Wrestling, WWE is moving forward with the impression that The Great One will not make it to WrestleMania 41. The report added that while it could change at any moment, he’s currently not scheduled to wrestle at The Show of Shows in Las Vegas. Corroborating that claim, Cory Hays posted that he was also fed with the same info.

Not that long ago, Dave Meltzer of WON did outright deny that Rock’s locked in for Mania. However, The People’s Champ himself debunked that claim, saying one doesn’t need to believe in that BS. Moreover, as per BetOnline, he’s the odds-on favorite to win the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match.

Whether these new claims about his unavailability for WrestleMania are legitimate or merely a smokescreen to mask the obvious will be made more clear in the days to come. WWE is on the brink of arguably the most pivotal stretch in the company’s history. With Raw’s premiere on Netflix coming up, they’ve already confirmed some major attractions for the show.

Travis Scott is slated to be there live in-person. John Cena is also being promoted. It boils down to whether The Rock will make it too or not. A positive that can be drawn is that he’s included in the video package that WWE is using to promote the $5 billion worth deal. It’d likely be kept close to the vest if he were to show up.

The Rock silenced naysayers with WrestleMania XL outing

Earlier this year, The Rock stepped foot inside a WWE ring to compete for the first time since 2016. On night 1 of WrestleMania XL, The Brahma Bull joined forces with his cousin Roman Reigns to take down the resilient duo of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

Since Rock had pinned Cody, the latter’s world title match against Reigns on Sunday was to be contested under Bloodline rules. The Black Adam star tried everything in his power to keep Rhodes off track but failed. Since then, the 52-year-old has made it crystal clear that he has unfinished business with The American Nightmare.

Cody previously alluded that they have lingering tension. A few reports have suggested that they could be the main event at WrestleMania 41, given that Rock will be available to do the match.
