Kolkata Knight Riders have made some invaluable acquisitions in IPL 2020 Auctions for the upcoming edition. KKR, now, have two spectacular finishers in their line up such as Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan. The batting line up looks nothing but top-notch. However, death bowling is a bit of concern.

Since 2011, Kolkata Knight Riders have been one of the most consistent sides in IPL. They have won IPL titles on two occasions. Both the titles came under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir. Though, the franchise endured a miserable run last year.

Dinesh Karthik and Co. would hope to keep everything behind and add another title to their cabinet ahead of 2020 IPL.

Openers: Sunil Narine and Shubhman Gill

Sunil Narine has been a sensation at the opening position for KKR, over the years. The side would not want to tinker with his batting position. With Uthappa no longer in the side, Shubhman Gill is likely to open the batting. Gill is yet to make his debut for India in T20s and the upcoming IPL would be a great opportunity for him to make his case stronger for Indian Team selection.

Middle Order: Nitish Rana Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan, Rahul Tripathi

Nitish Rana played some exceptional knocks last year. He scored 344 runs in 14 matches, including 3 half-centuries, in 2019 IPL. He is likely to bat number three in the side.

Also, KKR possesses one of the strongest middle-order in IPL 2020. Skipper Dinesh Karthik, along with Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan should form the side’s middle order. While the franchise has expressed their desire to send Russell up the order, the chances for that to happen are less likely.

For number seven, KKR can’t really think beyond Rahul Tripathi. It won’t be Tripathi’s favourite position but he will still take it if given a chance.

Spinners: Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine

Both the spinners (Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav) had an ordinary season with the ball last year. However, UAE conditions might prove beneficial for them this year. Nevertheless, both the spinners hold key for KKR’s chances of lifting the trophy this year.

4. Fast Bowlers: Pat Cummins, Shivam Mavi, Prasidh Krishna

The biggest buy of IPL 2020, Pat Cummins will have a great deal of responsibility on his shoulders. He will be leading the pace attack, which also consists of Prasidh Krishna and Shivam Mavi.
