Since Drew McIntyre turned heel, he’s remained a standout wrestler for the company. His main goal has been to reclaim the world title. However, Damian Priest has consistently stood in his way of glory. The Scottish Warrior recently attacked Priest on SmackDown, and posted a message on social media to emphasize his dominance in their heated rivalry.

The former World Champion took to X and shared an image of a person with back pain. The Scot captioned it, suggesting this would be Priest’s condition at WrestleMania. He also mocked Damian Priest, claiming he couldn’t carry a match or a rivalry on his own. Let’s look at how the former Judgment Day member has been a constant obstacle for the Scottish Warrior.

At WrestleMania 40, McIntyre finally achieved his dream of winning the world title in front of fans by defeating Seth Rollins. After his victory, he immediately confronted CM Punk to brag. However, things quickly changed when Punk attacked him, allowing Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and take the title.

In 2025, the Scottish Warrior aimed to win the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber to earn a title shot. However, Priest eliminated him from both matches, fueling McIntyre’s anger.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, the former El Campeón and Jimmy Uso defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and McIntyre. However, McIntyre had the last laugh by attacking Priest after the match. A showdown between them at WrestleMania now seems inevitable.

WWE’s Drew McIntyre reveals why he doesn’t hate Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

The Bloodline has played a major role in McIntyre’s struggles. Three years ago at Clash at the Castle, he came close to winning the world title against Roman Reigns, but faced overwhelming odds. In the final moments, Solo Sikoa debuted and cost him the match against The Tribal Chief. Given his animosity toward Bloodline members, many fans assumed he also had issues with The Rock. However, that’s not the case.

During WWE’s ongoing European tour, McIntyre spoke to the Daily Star and addressed whether he had the same hatred for The Final Boss. He immediately denied the claims, stating he only hates those who have wronged him. The Scottish Warrior also expressed his immense respect for Rocky, acknowledging the help he received from him throughout his career.

I absolutely can not tell you any information on that, but what I can tell you is one of the narratives I see online is that people don’t pay close attention to the stories. Why is Drew always talking about The Rock? I thought he hated the Bloodline? No, I hate people that wronged me personally. If somebody wronged me, I have an issue with them, just like anybody in real life.

McIntyre added that The Great One had always looked out for him since he was a kid. He also mentioned that The Rock’s ex-wife, Dany Garcia, had always spoken positively about him. The Scottish Warrior appreciated The Brahma Bull for praising him in a TMZ interview, where he called McIntyre the next big thing when he re-signed with WWE.

In an interview with Adam’s Apple, he expressed frustration about not being part of a world title match at the Showcase of the Immortals. Despite his heated rivalry with CM Punk in 2024 gaining massive attention, he remained out of the main event scene. However, he brushed off his disappointment and promised fans an outstanding match with Priest at WrestleMania.

Since I’m not in a world title match at WrestleMania, I know that in 2024, people were talking about me and CM Punk more than anyone—and I did 90% of that work. So yeah, I’m pissed off about not being in the world title match. I’ll make sure there’s a big match, a compelling story people are invested in, and I’ll make sure the match is f*******—because I’m Drew McIntyre.

Señor Money in the Bank cashing in and pinning McIntyre for the title remains one of the most embarrassing moment of the Scot’s career. Now, McIntyre will surely look to seek revenge for what Priest did to him.
