Although well past 500K PPV Buys, Dustin Poirier SLAMS “NothingBurger” Conor McGregor in exacted revenge
Revenge is a dish best served cold, as Dustin Poirier burns Conor McGregor's UFC 302 PPV sneak diss.

The thing about ‘Diamonds’ — it’s an accessory. Nevertheless, it can also cut through the hardest and most stubborn atoms. Dustin ‘Diamond’ Poirier is one of the nicest UFC peers known to man. At times, he can be equally petty when he needs to be. With Conor McGregor out of the game yet again, the Louisiana native strikes back at his UFC 302 claims.
Dustin Poirier is fresh off a fifth-round submission title loss to Islam Makhachev at the UFC 302 PPV. While pay-per-view numbers for the card (June 1, 2024) were not public, ‘The Notorious’ smacked the results in a since-absent tweet. He let fans know that his return makes a whopping 500,000 buys. Now, Poirier fires back at McGregor’s UFC 302 PPV sneak diss:

With floating rumors that he might pull out, Conor McGregor was all fun and games in the build-up to UFC 303. He put rest to injury rumors with some sparring snippets. The fact that his return event was already capping $20 million in live gate pre-sales was bolstering his confidence and status. However, the 35-year-old lightweight from Louisiana doesn’t care.
Studies from research firm Applied Analysis put UFC® 303 Official Buyouts way past 500k in pre-orders. A Conor McGregor fight typically garners extra attention and payout to his opponents. However, Poirier had his tweet on lock-and-load with ‘Mac’ pulling out. Concurrently, this diss leaves an extra mark, as the UFC 303 main event was McGregor’s comeback fight from his loss against him.
Conor McGregor seen with apparent leg injury amid UFC 303 pullout
Despite a storied history, Poirier states that his rivalry with McGregor has already concluded. However, the ‘Notorious’ tension remains. McGregor knocked out Poirier in their first scrap at UFC 178 in Las Vegas, and Poirier knocked out McGregor at UFC 257. The highly-anticipated trilogy at UFC 264 ended with McGregor breaking his leg. ‘The Diamond’ might now rest easy, knowing the deed is complete.
Moreover, Dustin Poirier now seemingly has added ammunition against the Team SBG Ireland standout. Soon after his removal from UFC 303 became a done deal, the Irish stout did not look so stout in a viral post. He wore what looked like compression socks while his shins were engorged. Unlike staple kickboxers, McGregor does not have the best bone reformation; with a less-than-desirable layoff, all pressure goes to his shins and the musculature below.
The post went viral on Instagram late Friday. The exact nature of the injury remains unknown. Former UFC middleweight and current color commentator Michael Bisping speculated the injury was to the same leg that McGregor suffered in his loss to Poirier three years ago. Bisping recently spoke with John McCarthy about it. As such, the imminent return of the Irishman remains uncertain at the moment.
