Pakistan‘s lost eight wickets for 60 runs before getting all out for 202 in the second Test in Multan on Saturday (December 10). As England are leading by 281 runs, they are eyeing a series win. The Englishmen won the first Test by 74 runs in Rawalpindi to take a 1-0 lead.

In their second innings, the visitors were 202-5. Earlier, Jack Leach scalped four wickets for 98 runs to bundle out the host for 202 to give England a 79-run lead.

In the second innings, English opener Ben Duckett smashed 79 before debutant spinner Abrar Ahmed dismissed him. Duckett stitched a 68-run stand with Harry Brook for the fourth wicket.

Abrar went to take three wickets, adding to the seven that he scalped in the first innings. Amongst his three scalps in 2nd innings, his other victims were Will Jacks (four) and Joe Root (21).

Abrar also became Pakistan’s second bowler to scalp 10 or more wickets on debut. Mohammad Zahid was the first who scalped 11 wickets for 130 runs against New Zealand back in 1996.

In the morning session, Pakistan resumed at 107-1 with skipper Babar Azam (75) and Saud Shakeel looking to give a solid start. The skipper added 91 runs for the third wicket with Shakeel.

Shakeel fell into the trap of Leach after playing a lofted shot where James Anderson‘s catch gave the spinner his 100 Test wicket. Babar’s wicket triggered a collapse and before the blink of an eye, seven wickets fell for just 37 runs.

Even Root’s off-breaks helped to scalp four wickets, dismissing Agha Salman (four) and Mohammad Ali (naught). Root had figures of 2-23 while Mark Wood, who broke the partnership of Faheem Ashraf (22) and Ahmed (seven not out) ended with 2-40.

England have so far scored 202/5 with Brook (74) and English skipper Ben Stokes (16) at the crease. They are leading by 281 runs.
