This VCT 2023 season has seen a lot of spectacular and quite a few unexpected moments. However, this VCT 2023 season has been full of drama too. Many over-the-top news made fans draw comparisons between the Valorant community & the streamers’ community. And with the Valorant Champions 2023 now progressing in full bloom, many more news are popping up. Moreover, LOUD’s Aspas recently missed the press conference for Valorant Champions after LOUD’s defeat against DRX.
This season was happening, from players just outright leaving organizations to strong teams showcasing heights of poor performance. Teams like Sentinels, with a world-class roster, couldn’t qualify for any playoffs throughout the season. On the other hand, inexperienced teams or players like Evil Geniuses & ZmjjKK, a.k.a. KangKang, dominated every other team. However, this season hasn’t been great for the current Champions title holder, LOUD.
The overall performance by LOUD hasn’t been up to the mark, considering their Champions 2022 title. Although the team’s run during the Americas League was good, and they directly qualified for the Masters Tokyo Playoffs, their run in the Masters League was miserable. The team was eliminated from the tournament without winning a single match. Furthermore, even their start in the Valorant Champions 2023 hasn’t been great, with the team losing their first match against DRX.

Aspas not attending the Valorant Champions press conference after LOUD’s first match
With Valorant Champions 2023 commenced, teams are diving into a fierce battle of skills and brains. Half of the teams have had their first match of the event by now. However, LOUD’s first match and the start of the event weren’t great for them. Despite fierce competition and winning one map out of the 3, the team lost against DRX with a score of 2-1. Furthermore, their star player, Aspas, despite dropping the most frag and showing exceptional gameplay, couldn’t get the team their first win.
Furthermore, Aspas couldn’t join in the post-match Valorant Champions press conference. However, the Pro Valorant player took it to Twitter and explained the reason for not being able to participate. Aspas, the first player to get 1000 kills in the Valorant international event, mentioned having a health issue right after the match ended and having to leave early. In his tweet, he said,
“Yesterday, after the game, I had a health problem that prevented me from attending the press conference. During the match, I focused on doing my best and passed by to reassure everyone that I was well and completely recovered. This setback was something punctual, and I will take care not to repeat it in the next games. I sincerely thank everyone who showed concern for me and the support of the fans. See you against Team Liquid on the 10th!
Fans have voiced their concerns for the player and hope he gets over his issue soon. However, with the whole skirmish between Aspas potentially leaving LOUD, his not being in the press conference has sparked some questions among fans. However, as of right now, fans are wishing for the good health of the player and are hoping to see him in the match against Team Liquid.
