The wait has ended. After lengthy legal fights, the ban on BGMI has finally been removed. The time has come after a lengthy wait. Players are now able to play BGMI following the release of the game on 29th May. The announcement of this news has hyped up gamers and the Indian eSports industry! However, players should note that the game is on a 3 months trial period now. So gamers need to maintain zero toxicity & maintain a stable player base. Also, devs have put a time limit on adults and minors to limit their playtime.
The government stated quite a few reasons for banning BGMI. Some of these reasons were deteriorating public order, an increase in play time leading to addiction to the game, etc. Authorities also banned the game for certain unproven security reasons. After lengthy court battles, Krafton has finally succeeded in unbanning the game in the country. This is welcoming news for the eSports community.
But note that the developers haven’t yet released the game full-time. Krafton has released BGMI on a 3-month trial period. The government would closely monitor the game and its player base during this time. If the government finds any kind of anomalies, it will permanently ban the ban this time around. But developers have imposed a harsh rule to maintain a healthy player base. This new rule is a time limit. Devs have implemented a time limit system for both adults & minors alike.

Time Limit rule from Krafton
For adults, the time limit to play the game each day is 6 hours. While on the other hand, for minors, it’s 3 hours. This new rule is a good way to retain the player base. Imposing these rules would make sure that people are not getting addicted to the game and give it a small portion of their time. This would also help people who suffer from physical issues to not play the game for prolonged hours. This is a harsh but important rule that needed to be implemented sooner, if not later.
However, despite the trial period and the time limit, the release of BGMI has rejoiced the player base. Also, BGMI was one of the prominent names in the Indian eSports industry. The unbanning of the game is huge news for gamers all around. Also, this will boost the stagnant eSports industry of India and would give content to streamers too.
