BGMI makers Krafton launches KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator initiative to financially support Indian gaming startups

The Indian gaming and streaming industry is in a very interesting stage currently. It is growing steadily at an appreciable pace thanks to some good organization. Now to speed up this growth, Krafton India, the company behind the popular game BGMI has announced that they will be investing 150 million dollars in the upcoming three to four years.

They announced the Krafton India Gaming Incubator Program, which aims at helping teams grow in the eSports circuits. The incubator programme will accept six to ten startups annually and provide cash support of between $50,000 and $150,000, with extraordinary startups receiving up to $250,000. Indian esports always lacked financial support, due to which many startups would fail after some time, but this Gaming Incubator Program opens new opportunities.

Indian eSports Startups to benefit from the Krafton India Gaming Incubator Programme

The Indian wing of the South Korean company revealed that they are open to supporting eSports startups that are open to mentorship and want to grow in this field. In addition to that, Krafton India has also made it clear that they will not be extending support to startups that focus on gambling and real money gaming. It is clear that Krafton wants to foster real eSports.

In a recent interview, the chief executive of Krafton Indian  Anuj Sahani gave a statement, “Krafton is willing to make additional investments in games developed through the project or even to publish them. But we want to be clear that if they choose to, we won’t prevent them from collaborating with any other investors or publishers. We want to draw in top talent and encourage them to think about a future in gaming. We don’t really intend to take them for ourselves; that is not the incubator’s purpose.”

He added, “Our program is designed to provide aspiring developers, designers, and creators with the resources and mentorship they need to bring their ideas to life. Aligned with the Indian government’s vision of boosting the startup ecosystem, we are enthusiastic about witnessing the emergence of groundbreaking ideas and games from the program.”

It is a very great step in the right direction by Krafton to help the eSports industry in India. Many Intentional orgs are embracing the talent of Indian startups and helping them grow to new heights. Along with other streams like entertainment and mass media, esports is also being recognised and is considered to have a growth potential.
