Audio Fix

Modern Warfare 2 players have been complaining about the audio issue in the game for a long time. There was an issue that was affecting occlusion across the game. Devs will be fixing this issue in the season 2 update. Along with this fix, the game’s ambient and surround sound will be also improved. Devs have added an option that will force the PC to stereo output.

Weapon Balancing

Devs like to balance weapons in every season or mid-season update. Now similarly for Modern Warfare 2 season 2, devs will be changing the stats of some weapons. Devs intend to change the already stale weapon meta. Players can witness some new weapons rise as the S-tier weapons. Additionally, 5 more weapons will be introduced in the upcoming season.

Perk balancing

Devs are reducing the points required for the activation of the package’s bonus and ultimate perk by 50% and 25% respectively. Now aggressive players will be able to acquire Ghost much earlier in the game. Currently, it takes players very long to activate the bonus and ultimate perks of the Ghost perk package. Players have either complained about the or just left playing MW2 at all.

UI Changes

  • Improved navigation and organization of the Camo menu
  • More polished Social tab, including improved channel swapping and player muting
  • New “My Bundles” screen
  • Quick equip items from Battlepass, My Bundles, and Store
  • Reticle previews in Store and Gunsmith
  • Improved clarity of attachment blocking logic in Gunsmith
  • Improved After Action Report with audio
  • Bug fixes for inconsistencies between:
    • Challengers
    • Battle Pass
    • Weapon progression

Devs have stated that there are more additional bug fixes which will be revealed in the Season 2 launch patch notes.

Playlist Update

Devs are bringing Valentine’s day playlists. They also revealed that Infinity Ward‘s official Twitter Handle will hold a Twitter poll one week per month for one of that week’s playlists from the rotating pool.

New Ranked mode

Devs are adding the much-awaited and asked Ranked mode for multiplayer. The ranked mode will bring a feeling of competitiveness among the players. It will give highly skilled players to grind and other players a reason to improve further. This will definitely stop players from migrating to other games and will bring back some lost players too.

Hardcore Mode

Seasoned players will finally get their favorite Hardcore mode with Modern Warfare 2 season 2. And as speculated earlier, Hardcore mode will replace Tier 1 game mode. Even though Tier 1 is quite similar to Hardcore mode, players were still asking for the Hardcore mode.

That’s all devs have revealed in the early patch notes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 season 2. Further upcoming features will be released in the season 2 launch patch notes.
