Does Tess die in The Last of Us video game?
With the death of Tess in the show, fans wants to know if she dies in The Last of Us Game too.

The Last of Us is a fantastic video game. The game’s win for Game of the Year is justified by the enormous amount of effort put into the gameplay, story, and characters. Players take control of Joel, a smuggler charged with escorting a teenage girl named Ellie across the post-apocalyptic United States that is overrun with zombies. The latter plays a significant part as well and serves as Joel’s buddy. There are many Easter eggs and hidden secrets in the title.
Now with the release of The Last Of Us TV Series, players are over the moon. With stars like Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and Nick Offerman, the series seems to be a very good watch. Usually, the game tie-in movies or shows don’t live up to the hype of fans. But so far, The Last of Us has lived up to its hype.
As the series is progressing, fans are wondering if everything is going as in the game or if is there any originality. Now, spoiler alert, with the death of Tess in the series, some fans who haven’t played the game want to know if Tess dies in the game as well.
Sadly, Tess dies in The Last of Us game series too

A zombie bites Tess in the game, and she later reveals to Joel that she is infected. Unlike the show, Tess was actually killed by FEDRA soldiers in the game’s plot. Tess sacrifices herself to stall for Ellie and Joel.
But in the show, after she gets infected, she blew herself. She runs into a building to distract the zombies and let Ellie and Joel run for their life. One creature weaved into her mouth. After that, she finally manages to light the lighter and blows up the building and creatures with her. FEDRA has not been introduced in the TV show as of now.
The relationship between Joel and Tommy is made more complicated in the game than in the series. Joel hasn’t spent any time attempting to locate Tommy; his main concern is simply remaining alive. When Joel and Tess agree to drive Ellie in the game, it isn’t to get to Tommy for a vehicle battery. They accept the agreement in return for the weapons. They seek the supply of the Fireflies. Like the show, all Fireflies dies and were scattered around the building.
How the game and show differ with respect to the consequences of Tess’s death
Joel was persuaded by Tess to accept the assignment, and it is Tess’s passing that pushes Joel to escort Ellie west; he is merely carrying out her dying wish. If she didn’t have died, Joel might have returned to the QZ. The choice is driven more by guilt, humiliation, and love for Tess than by a brotherly rescue. Tommy still becomes a goal, but he never serves as the catalyst. In other words, Joel would not have saved Ellie unless Tess died.
But in The Last of Us TV series, it is not the same. A bite, a choice, and an enormous explosion are how death occurs in both media, thus it may not seem like a significant change. But now that the motivation has changed, the entire purpose of starting the journey has changed.
