“The student has surpassed his idol”: Fans react as MrBeast topples PewDiePie in terms of YouTube subscribers
MrBeast vs PewDiePie
Barely a month had passed since Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson hit the milestone of hitting 100 million subscribers on his primary YouTube channel that earlier today, he was able to surpass his ‘friendly rival’ PewDiePie with more than 11.8 million subscribers.
He also hit the record of being the first individual content creator to achieve this milestone, although, he remains to surpass three other channels to reign as the most subscribed channel on the platform, but the amount of growth the YouTuber has been showing lately, it won’t be a surprise if he actually manages to achieve the coveted feat.
While the record was broken during midnight at 14th November, when MrBeast procured 111,847,586 subscribers on the platform but at the time of publishing this article, the Kansas native has gained 111,907,327 subscribers. It would be a matter of days that he topples SET India, an Indian brand channel that currently stands at 146 million subscribers.

MrBeast achieves this feat 10 years after joining YouTube
The American content creator joined the red platform in February 2022 and during the single calendar year, he was to only able to reach the 100 million subscriber milestone but also put an end to the YouTube era of PewDiePie. Although, this has only increased a healthy competition among the two content creators as they have always been supportive of each other.
In terms of channel views though, Jimmy Donaldson is far away to surpass Felix ‘PewDiePie‘ Kjellberg. As of now, the 26 year-old content creator has accumulated 18 billion views after combining all of his channels. Here are the secondary channels of the YouTuber-
- Beast Philanthropy (10.5 million)
- MrBeast Gaming (29.5 million)
- Beast Reacts (20.2 million)
- MrBeast 2 (16.7 million)
Aside from being a YouTuber, MrBeast has shown several acts of kindness as his Philanthropy channel’s profits are directly given to charity or NGOs. He has also been involved in some ambitious projects such as Team Trees and Team Seas, and as surprising as it might sound, he has achieved the goals.
Fans react to the YouTuber’s milestone
MrBeast didn’t provide an official reaction after toppling PewDiePie but he has been acknowledging the posts on Twitter who are appreciating him for his hard work that has helped him to stand here after a decade. “You got some catching up to do”, the creator replied when a user posted that a YouTube era has ended but no one deserved it more than MrBeast.
However, he was met with some negative comments as well as one of the users wrote that he bribes people, so that they could subscribe him. Others pointed out that he has become a brand now as several people work under hi, whereas PewDiePie achieved this feat alone.
