FNC vs LOUD Valorant Champions 2023: Defending champions LOUD SHATTERS Fnatic and Boaster’s grand slam dream
Loud continue to defend their Title
Valorant Champions 2023 has been nothing short of an epic. 16 teams started the tournament with ambitions to win the $1M dollar first prize but now fans are left with the top 4. The lower brackets witnessed the clash of titans with Title Contender Fnatic taking on defending Champions LOUD in a much-awaited rematch. LOUD had sent Fnatic to the Lower brackets and Fnatic had previously defeated them in the LOCK // IN finals.
Derke vs. Aspas, Less vs. Alfajer, Boaster vs. Sadhaak—the individual battle was immaculate. However, LOUD managed to send the EMEA’s last hope, Fnatic, home in a thrilling 2-1 victory spread over three maps. Fnatic had a legendary year run, winning all global events, and looked in the title contention for this tournament too. Boaster and Co’s dreams of a grand Slam were shut down by the Brazilian powerhouse.
LOUD seems to be Fnatic’s Kryptonite
Fnatic has always struggled against LOUD and the last day was no different. Loud won 4 of the six pistols and converted the bonus into three of them. Fnatic picked Split as the first map. They were hard-strutted, with Loud picking apart their defense in a clinical manner. Their attacking side was no different; they were unable to spring a single round together. Subsequently, the map ended 13-4 in LOUD’s favor.
Fnatic made a comeback on LOUD’s pick Ascent with IGL Boaster going huge on attack and clutching multiple rounds. Unlike Split, Fnatic showed way better coordination on Ascent winning it out with a 13-9 score. LEO went huge dropping an ACS of 251 on the map. In Contrast, Decider Map Heaven was not a close affair as people would have hoped. Fnatic managed to get only Four rounds of attack. LOUD completed their victory winning map three 13-7.
Fnatic players had a very rough time, especially ‘Chronicle‘ who went -22 in Kills and deaths. Alfajer, who looked like the best player, not only on the team but the whole tournament also had a bad day. Fnatic lost numerous 1 v 1, which is very unusual. On the other hand, LOUD’s young initiator, Cauanzin, had a great performance with an average rating of 1.33. Star duelist Aspas also popped off, having an average ACS of 258 across three maps.
Fnatic’s year has come to an end on a bitter note but they have achieved some unbelievable stuff this year. They won back-to-back masters, the first team to achieve such a feat. Both Fans and players are sad that they couldn’t complete the “Grand Slam” and create a dynasty of sorts. But it is for sure that Fnatic will come with vengeance next year. They will run it back and try to recreate and even surpass the success they had this year.
