Fortnite turns 5 years old today

Fans of Fortnite already had cause for celebration after ‘Chapter 3: Season 4: Paradise’ was launched and unveiled in the game, which meant the addition of a new battle pass along with many more new features. Now, fans have more reasons to rejoice.

New quests along with various rewards are up for grabs as part of a celebratory event to mark Fortnite’s fifth birthday. That’s right, the game has been running for 5 years, and it’s going pretty strong as well. The game got this far through its unique approach to building mechanics and many other adaptations to provide fans with the ultimate gaming experience.

Fortnite has come up with a special ‘Fortography’ event for its 5th birthday

The celebrations for Fortnite’s 5th birthday begin today, and we can expect a party for sure. The Island is expected to be decorated to mark the occasion and provide players of the game a festive mode to game in. Players can also participate in in-game quests and out-of-game trivia events on social media.

The Birthday Battle Bus allows players to travel the island in style. On the island itself, numerous gifts are scattered around all POIs, including high-quality loot and a birthday cake that can restore health. Balloons will also return in the event, allowing players to hover over the map to quickly reach their destination.

In addition, the 5th birthday celebratory quest will continue until September 27th. They can be found on the ‘Quests’ page on Fortnite starting tomorrow, and upon completion, will reward players with cosmetic items such as the Fuzzfetti Cake Back Bling, Celebratory Slice Pickaxe, and Sparklecake Emoticon.

Fortnite’s Birthday Fortography event is a great way to get featured on the game’s official blog. The theme this time is simple. A player celebrating a birthday, or even a friend’s birthday, or favorite Fortnite memories from the last five years to mark the occasion. Epic Games also encourages players to build a special birthday island in Creative and share it on social media. Winners will be announced on October 7th in a blog post by the game.
