The hype for GTA 6 is higher than it’s ever been. Rockstar Games recently announced that they would celebrate the 25th anniversary of their gaming studio by giving fans a gift in the form of the GTA 6 trailer. They announced that the trailer will be released in early December. Upon fan speculation, it is rumored that the GTA 6 trailer might be dropping in the first week of December.

Rockstar Games has refrained from giving out any official information about the game. The trailer might reveal the GTA 6 protagonists, the game’s location, and more, even though there is no guarantee of such. However, fans do have a lot of information about GTA 6, thanks to leaks. One such piece of information is the game’s protagonists.

Since 2018, rumours have been circulating that the GTA 6 protagonists will feature a female character. The leaks confirmed these rumours, hinting that two GTA 6 protagonists, a male and a female Latina, will be in the upcoming game. Their names are reportedly Jason and Lucia, although this is subject to change before the game comes out.

The duo was assumed to be similar to Bonnie & Clyde, an American couple known for bank robberies who travelled across America with their gang in search of scores. However, recent rumours and fan speculation suggest that players may have been wrong in their assumptions.

Certain sources say that the GTA 6 Protagonists are supposedly based on two movie characters from the 2013 movie, ‘The Place Beyond the Pines‘. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes play the roles of Luke and Romina, a couple with a son named Jason. Ryan Gosling’s character eventually turns to a life of robberies and crime to support his son.

This theory isn’t too far-fetched, as Rockstar has based GTA protagonists on movie characters in the past.  Vice City’s Tommy was based on Tony Montana, the Grove Street Boys in San Andreas were based on Boyz N The Hood, Niko Bellic from GTA IV was based on Vladimir Mashkov’s character from Behind Enemy Lines, and GTA V’s Michael was based on Robert De Niro’s character in Heat.

There have even been rumors that Lucia is Latina and has a kid in GTA 6 who also appears in the game. Romina, also a Latina, has a son in the movie who is coincidentally named Jason. There were even rumors that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were the voice actors for the characters in the game. However, these rumors have shown no merit.

Lastly, rumours also suggest that players can seamlessly switch between the two characters in the game, similar to GTA 5’s protagonist system. The game’s starting mission is a prison break if the leaks are accurate. One of these characters breaks the other out of prison before the two go on a run together.
