American-Turkish internet personality Hasan ‘HasanAbi’ Piker was stunned to see that his name has been replaced with iShowSpeed, in a Turkish article which describes his recent charity stream on Syria-Turkey earthquake.

The Turkish article belongs to a prominent media outlet, therefore, it was quite shocking to see the mistake on their part. Although, the streamer explained that this is a case of self-censorship. “Everyone here is incredibly critical of the Turkish government,” began the Twitch star while showing the article to his audience.

The article read as, “American Twitch broadcaster iShowSpeed raises funds for Turkey and Syria around $200K.” HasanAbi was staring in silence for a bit after reading the subtitle of the news piece. However, he made it clear that he is not going to make a fuss about it.

He later described the reason for showing the article. According to HasanAbi, the Turkish government has a lot of grip over the independent press media. The streamer also added that this shows what kind of self-censorship they are adding in their media outlets.
