Allen “Griddy” Davis invented the celebratory dance step known as The Griddy. And, before NFL star Ja’Marr Chase started utilizing it during important sporting events, it was initially spotted on Snapchat and other social media.

The griddy involves tapping your heels, swinging your arms back and forth, and throwing your Bs by raising both hands to your face in the shape of a pair of glasses. The obvious prerequisite for doing the Griddy in FIFA 23 is to score a goal. One can only “drop the griddy” and direct the player to perform the dance of your wishes after scoring a goal.

Of course, EA Sports has incorporated the Griddy into a few of their yearly sports games. And now FIFA 23 allows one to perform the Griddy.

After scoring a goal, you must hold down R2/RT and flick the right stick twice to do the Griddy. This will cause your player to automatically hit the griddy in FIFA 23 and display your player celebrating by dancing across the field.

You may also just hit X on a PlayStation or A on an Xbox to perform the griddy if you score with Christian Pulisic, which is the Chelsea midfielder’s trademark celebration.

Since becoming more well-known, the dance has appeared in video games like Fortnite and, most recently, Madden and FIFA 23. Even while not everyone executes the popular dance flawlessly, players can count on seeing the Griddy a lot more often.
