India to get its 1st eSports arena: India has had its fair share of eSports enthusiasts, but the flame always dies down, following the regular big incidents. The average Indian might not even know about eSports and acknowledge the possibilities that come with it. There has been an uprise in its fame recently.

In light of recent awakenings, India might soon get its very own first professional eSports arena. The article talks about MOGO Esports joining hands with a University to make every gamer’s dream come true in India.

India to get its 1st eSports arena

According to their official website, MOGO is an organization to facilitate competitive events in India & in six South Asian countries and promotes their participation in global events, such as the CEX championships. In addition, we develop esport-themed championship and event trademarked merchandise in conjunction with SII’s university-trademarked merchandise.

Sunny Bhandarkar, CEO, MOGO Esports today announced that Mobile Global Esports will join hands with Somaiya Vidyavihar University to build India’s first ever professional esports arena in India which will feature a substantial seating capacity for a live audience. Additionally, Somaiya Vidyavihar University will be the first-ever University in India to have an Esports Arena.

Sunny Bhandarkar, CEO, of MOGO Esports says, “This is a big day for all Esports lovers in India. We are happy to announce that we are the first ones to build an arena dedicated to Esports. We would also like to thank the management of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, especially the sports director for taking this step with us.”

“Since beginning, our focus was creating a platform for students who could choose Esports as a career and we have been constantly working towards it. This is a new dawn and we hope to see many more universities take the same approach. We have also joined hands with SVU to start an eSports academy with qualified eSports coaches. This will commence in November 2022.”

The official vision of MOGO is to be India’s biggest student-centric mobile gaming firm, where university esports get recognized and discover ways to contribute to the fastest-growing industry in the world of sports. We intend to provide a unique podium to university/collegiate students for taking up esports as a profession.

Somaiya has always been a pioneer when it comes to holistic education through sports and sports infrastructure has been one of the main focus for us.”

eSports is the fastest growing sport in the world and requires utmost skill, it was an axiomatic decision to go forward and create the eSports facility with MoGo. We look forward to making Somaiya an eSports hub. This would be one of the milestones in the history of eSports industry in India.
