LOUD’s star duelist, Aspas, is considered one of the best duelists in the community. He joined the Brazilian Valorant team LOUD in 2022 and has since been very successful with the team, including winning VCT Champions 2022. LOUD, who are currently in bad form, is still considered one of the favorites to make a deep run at the tournament, considering they are the defending champions.

Brazilian team Loud’s star duelist Erick ‘Aspas’ Santos has completed 1000 kills at Valorant international events with his impressive 61 kills against DRX in Valorant Champions 2023. LOUD vs DRX was the second match of the day where people were expecting a very competitive game given their past performances on the international stage and they delivered, at least in the first half. The first map lotus was an overtime win for LOUD with a 15-13 score. Later, DRX claimed the second split game in a convincing 13-6 fashion and completed their series victory by decimating LOUD on the decider Ascent map.

DRX handed them their first loss of the event. Even though LOUD lost, Aspas had a phenomenal game, having the highest kills in the match, dropping 61 kills and 21 assists, with 51 deaths overall. A lot of DRX’s strategy revolves around shutting down Aspas who seemed to be the crucial pivoting factor for LOUD. With this performance, he crossed the 1,000-kill mark at the international valiant stage.

A 1000 kills in Valorant Internationals is a really impressive feat with only a handful of players achieving it. Some of the other players include the Fnatic, NRG, and NAVI cores who have been in the scene since its inception. Aspas is one of the fastest to complete this achievement since he started playing internationally in 2022 much later than the other players and has joined this elite group in a matter of a year.

Even though LOUD lost their first match, however, their event is not over yet. They move on to the lower brackets to face EMEA’s #2-seeded Team Liquid. A big deciding factor in their event run will be Aspas’s performance in the game, as he is the most impactful player from Loud’s side. Given the ongoing speculation of team incongruity and the probable exit of Aspas from the team, this event is monumental not only for the team but also for Aspas personally.
