Mojang announces new Cherry Blossom Biome coming to Minecraft with 1.20 update
Embrace the beauty of cherry blossom trees with the new cherry blossom biome in Minecraft!
Mojang revealed the Minecraft 1.20 update last year, and it is set to release this year. In the last couple of days, developers have given players a glimpse of what is coming with the update. Now, Mojang has announced that they will include a brand new cherry blossom biome in Minecraft. Many of the Minecraft mods have already featured them. Players have always liked the cherry blossom trees in the Sandbox title.
Mojang announced their intention to include cherry blossom biomes in version 1.20 in a blog post on the game’s official website. Before the whole update is launched, the new biome will also appear in subsequent Java snapshots and Bedrock previews. Before the eagerly anticipated 1.20 update is released, players should be able to visit these new locations.
Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming cherry blossom biome in Minecraft.

Minecraft Cherry Blossom biome
As the name suggests, the new biome is home to cherry blossom trees and calm creatures. Players can immediately recognize the wooden area by its vibrant trees. Mojang said,
“This beautiful biome is filled with cherry blossom trees that bring a unique look to the horizon as their crowns are big and flat, like fluffy pink clouds. It’s no wonder that three adorable mobs, pigs, sheep, and bees, are drawn to them and will spawn in this biome. The cherry tree can be broken down into a full wood set as well as crafted into the new hanging sign that is also coming in Minecraft 1.20! You can also find cherry tree saplings in the biome, so you can plant them wherever you want.”
Through the blog post, players now have a clearer understanding of what cherry blossom biomes will be like and how they might differ from those offered by the modding community. Cherry trees provide a new kind of wood. It can be made into planks and other building elements just like other kinds of wood. These trees drop cherry tree saplings after destroying them. You can re-plant these saplings to grow a new tree whenever you want. So, you can make your own cherry tree farm in Minecraft. However, it is yet to be revealed whether these trees require any specific climate or requirements to survive.
Along with the Cherry Blossom biome, a new mob Sniffer is also set to debut in Minecraft. It was the top-voted mob in the Minecraft Live mob vote.
