Hasan Piker, popularly known as HasanAbi, is a political commentator who is no stranger to controversies. On a recent stream, HasanAbi was talking about his career as a streamer and started comparing it to more conventional jobs. His words did not go down well with his audience and landed him in much controversy.

With over a million subscribers on YouTube, HasanAbi is one of the biggest channels in his genre. Being a major political commentator, he is no stranger to controversies. He has been accused of racial slurs and contentious comments about America in the past, and his opinion on streaming has left his community highly divided.

HasanAbi acknowledged that real jobs can be gruesome on a person and highly tiring for them. However, he added that a real job would not “suck the soul out of a person.” However, according to him, nine hours of continuous streaming will absolutely do that to a person.

Naturally, HasanAbi faced a lot of backlash for these views. The degree of controversy generated due to these comments reached so high that he was forced to acknowledge the situation on Twitter. HasanAbi made a post to explain what he meant by his remark. He claimed that his comment had been taken out of context while being circulated on social media.

HasanAbi clarified that what he meant was nine hours of continuous streaming on Twitch ate away at his social battery. He simply did not have enough energy to socialise afterwards.

The Turkish-American also compared streaming to his previous sales job. He recognised that he was extremely fortunate because of the career he has at the moment.

However, this comment did not help in dousing the fire at all. Fans still took to social media to troll Hasan Abi for not recognising his privilege.

Many also made fun of him for mocking people who work hard while all he does is sit on his chair all day and talk to his computer. Many streamers, like xQc also poked fun at HasanAbi for his views.
