The entire fan community of Pokemon UNITE is looking towards BLVKHVND, an American eSports organization that amassed popularity overnight after claiming the trophy at the first-ever Pokemon Unite World Championship 2022.

Organized by Play Pokemon!, the PUWC 2022 is the first tournament of Pokemon Unite that was hosted on a large-scale basis. The LAN tournament took place at London with 13 teams throwing their Pokemons at their enemies and marching towards the victory. However, as there is only one winner, BLVKHVND made sure to script history.

Following months of immense practice sessions and Regional Championships, fans saw thirteen teams taking the podium to play the final match of Pokemon Unite World Championship 2022. While it was true that the competition was immense this year, we were able to see some jaw-dropping action by the winning team BLVKHVND.

Conquerors of the American regional championship, the team made it sure to claim the victory at the global tournament as well, that too without dropping any set. BLVKHVND or BLACK HVND consisted of the following players-

  • Overlord98
  • Slashcan
  • Elo
  • Junglebook

As this team claimed the victory at the first LAN event of Pokemon Unite, it won’t be a surprise when fans wish to know other details about this team such as the prize money they were able to claim from Pokemon Unite World Championship 2022. The offline tournament kept $500,000 USD cash prize up for grabs, out of which the team got a lion’s share of $100,000 USD.

Winning such a huge cash prize, the players are certainly elated while looking forward to win more such events in the upcoming years. As mentioned by Upcomer, one of their player who goes by his internet alias Overlord98 stated in his interview- 

“It doesn’t feel real to me,” Overlord98 said in his interview with ZOINKS. “It’s crazy how this started out as a hobby, playing a game. Now, a year later, [I’ve] met four of the best friends in my life and now we’re here, grand champs.”

The consequences of this tournament were also that this team became one of the highest paid Pokemon Unite team for the 2022 tournaments. The second cash prize of $75,000 USD was won by Nouns Esports, the victors of the Pokemon Unite European Championship this year followed by Renaissance, who secured the third place at Pokemon Unite World Championship 2022 with $65,000 USD.
