Popular Indian YouTuber Mrz Thoppi gets arrested at 2 in the morning during live broadcast

Mohammad Nihad, a.k.a. Mr. Thoppi, who became popular for his BGMI streams, is once again in the headlines, but not for a good reason. Mrz Thoppi hails from Kerala and eventually gained immense popularity among teenage players who also follow the YouTuber and look up to him for his gaming skills. However, in a shocking turn of events, Mohammad Nihad was taken into custody on Friday, and the whole incident was recorded live.

In the early morning of Friday, around 2 a.m., the police broke open the door over several complaints registered by neighbors. The video was still live when Mrz Thoppi denied opening the door and locked himself inside. The live footage of the same is going insanely viral on the internet like wildfire, eliciting a plethora of reactions from users online.

Why was Mrz Thoppi arrested in the middle of the night?

For context, Mrz Thoppi had several complaints registered against him from neighbors and members of the All India Federation for using slurs and bad words during his live streams. Another complaint received against him accused Mrz Thoppi of blocking the road during daytime while greeting his fans.

Moreover, his detention was related to a complaint made at the Valanchery police station by social worker Saifuddin Padath and All India Youth Federation leader Murshidul Haq. As the BGMI player maintained his irresponsive attitude, which he described as “sarcastic,” the matter started heating up. Parents began to voice their concerns about the pernicious impact that individuals like Thoppi were having on their kids. Larger groups of individuals initially opposed his social media activities, but this quickly gave way to disdain and rage as they demanded the need to restrain him.

A closer look at his background and childhood, Mrz Thoppi had a rather difficult childhood. Growing up, he was often caught stealing money. Being distant from his parents, Mrz Thoppi grew up without much parental supervision. Mrz Thoppi’s braided hairstyle and content even put him in constant comparison with the US internet personality Ishowspeed, who is popular for his over-the-top reactions. However, a larger section of society doesn’t approve of the lifestyle of the YouTuber. 

With that being said, his arrest in the early hours of Friday has raised concerns over what would be the next move by the police. So keep an eye out for the updates coming in.
