Riot Games to add much-requested Replay system in Valorant

Valorant is currently in a good state. It is doing good numbers and players are satisfied with the new Episode 6 of Valorant. With the recent Dev diary, devs unveiled some of the upcoming new changes and features to the game. The way Valorant devs regard and treat its community is commendable.

Despite having almost everything, the player base still wants something more. Luckily for the community, Riot Games doesn’t back down from these challenges. With the recently revealed Team Deathmatch, players can also expect a replay system for Valorant. Games like PUBG and CS: GO have a replay system. It helps players to see what they did wrong and how can improve their skills.

Anna Donlon, EP and Dev team lead on Valorant revealed many new features in the recent dev diary. The next day of this dev diary, she posted on Twitter that there are some additional features that she and the team didn’t cover. The replay system was one of them.

Anna gave the reason for not covering these features. She said,

“We typically don’t talk about those things until we can make firmer commitments around dates or share actual details… mainly out of concern we might hype things up sooner than we should, over-promise, etc.”

Valorant’s own replay system will eliminate the need of using an external recording app. ValorLeaks, the popular data miner, reacted to this news and tweeted that this feature was in development for a much longer time.

Pro players like C9 Vanity, Poach, and Sentinels‘ strategic coach SEN Kaplan also expressed their excitement about this news. Replays being added to Valorant would be advantageous for the esports sector as well. Since the game’s release in 2020, Valorant esports players and coaches have not been able to properly watch back videos of their team with the full scope of the map after every round.

Anna also mentioned that there will host more server locations in the coming future. It will help certain players to get a consistently better network ping. Currently, there are 25 server locations. There are no confirmed dates about when these features will drop in, but players can expect them to hit in 2023.
