Sentinels signs former OpTic Gaming’s pro Marved as 6th man

After the recent arrest of Sentinels’ sixth member SicK for criminal trespassing, Sentinels started their hunt for the new sixth man for their Valorant roster. Sentinel’s CEO revealed that they were looking for someone to replace SicK as The VCT Americas league is just around the corner. As speculated earlier, Sentinels has signed the ex-OpTic player  Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen as their 6th member.

Marved is one of the most well-known Valorant players on the NA Pro circuit due to his ice-cold performances throughout his time with OpTic Gaming, OpTic became a feared opponent thanks to his play, Yay’s dependability, FNS’s IGLing, crashes support functionality, and Victor’s capability for space creation. Marved was the only member from OpTic Gaming who didn’t get signed by any partnered team after OpTic Gaming didn’t get the franchise spot. Crashies, Victor, FNS, and Coach Chet were signed by NRG. Whereas Cloud 9 signed theOpTic Gaming’s trump card, Yay, however, Yay has been released from C9. But now, Marved is now the part already stacked Sentinels team.

Marved was one of the best controller players in the VCT 2022 season. He helped OpTic Gaming to win the VCT Masters: Reykjavik 2022 and finish up as runner-up in VCT Champions 2022. Despite having accomplished so much in Valorant, Marved made the decision to take a break from esports not long after the 2022 season was over. Many fans were surprised by this decision. Marved also temporarily joined his pals Sinatraa, Zombs, and PROD under the name UNTAMABLE BEASTS to play in the NA Valorant Challengers League Open Qualifiers.

Sentinels broke this news via their official Twitter account.

Even though SicK’s present scenario is unfortunate, it made it possible for Marved to land a spot on a franchised Valorant lineup. Marved is high caliber player and brings things to the table. However, since the Marved is just a substitute, fans may not see him playing for Sentinels. However, his experience and extensive knowledge might help the team. Sentinels’ roster is now complete as they will compete soon in VCT Americas 2022. Here’s the complete roster:

  • Tyson “TenZ” Ngo
  • Zachary “zekken” Patrone
  • Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi
  • Bryan “pANcada” Luna
  • Rory “dephh” Jackson
  • Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen (6th member)

Sentinels failed to perform well in the recent VCT LOCK//IN tournament and went home after 1st match against Fnatic. So, they will try a few things differently in VCT Americas league 2023 as the spot for VCT Champions 2023 and Masters: Tokyo is on the line.
