Following the back to back bans of two influential streamers, Kai Cenat and Forsen, Twitch has unbanned rapper and streamer Soulja Boy. Soulja boy was a Twitch partner with 700,000 plus followers before his ban in December 2021.
DeAndre Cortez Way also goes by the stage name Soulja Boy was an American rapper and record producer before becoming a streamer on Twitch. He has produced some of the greatest hits of 2010’s with songs like ” Crank That” and ” Kiss me Thru the Phone”. He had amassed quite a large number of followers on Twitch and even released a song for his fans called Squid Game. The American rapper was finally unbanned after 16 long months and had his first stream yesterday on Twitch. Soulja Boy like he always does with everything else used to claim he was the sole reason Twitch was functioning.
The reason for Souja Boy’s ban was never really explained. Twitch having a history of banning big streamers like Dr. Disrespct and Jake Lucky without a reason has always baffled people. Although fans had speculated that it was due to him starting his own streaming platform. Soulja Boy had quite a unique ban or bans. The rapper was first banned for five minutes after which he was unbanned again. Only a few hours later he was banned indefinitely until recently being unbanned. Soulja Boy had accused Twitch of “raciscm” and had threatened to sue the streaming platform but later backed out from the lawsuit.

Fans react to Twitch unbanning Soulja Boy after multiple bans on other Black creators
Following the ban of multiple black creators like Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed on Twitch, people had begun accusing the streaming platform of being racist. Kai was one of the biggest streamers on the platform before his ban and fans have not happy with his ban.
The news of Soulja Boy being unbanned on Twitch has left people on Twitter wondering if Twitch is trying to cover up their mistakes. Fan on Twitter have been questioning whether this was the correct move to replace the recently banned Kai Cenat. Some were even questioning why Dr. DisRespect still hasn’t been unbanned while others were just there trolling at the new of Soulja Boy’s return.
Twitch is currently in turbulent waters when it comes to its creators. How they tackle the situation remains to be seen.
