Sony released God of War Ragnarök, a sequel to the groundbreaking video game God Of War 2018, last November. Players instantly fell in love with the game as soon as it was out. Moreover, the success of the sequel, as per the announcement by Santa Monica Studios, was record-breaking. Being a PlayStation exclusive, the game increased the console’s sales! Now fans are wondering one thing: When will God of War Ragnarök come to PC?
God of War Ragnarök has sold 11 million copies, and the numbers continue to rise. After the cliffhanger in the previous title left gamers wanting more, God of War Ragnarök proved to be a huge success. Furthermore, God of War Ragnarök is the ninth installation in the God of War series. Set in Norse mythology, entirely a different setting than the usual Greek Mythology. Additionally, the new mechanics and weapons introduced in this game totally took gamers by surprise!
From being able to control not just Kratos but even his son Atreus, the game explored entirely new frontiers. Moreover, the campaign of the game was groundbreaking and gave gamers quite a memorable experience. Although the game didn’t win the Game of the Year award in the last edition of the Game Awards, gamers all around loved the game. And now, PC gamers are relentlessly asking for God of War Ragnarök’s PC port!
When will God of War Ragnarök release for PC?
Sony has had major success with the release of its First-party console games on PC. From The Last of Us to Days Gone, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and other games have seen massive success on their PC ports! Furthermore, Sony has already discussed their positive plans for releasing their exclusive games on PC. Although there’s no official confirmation from Sony or Santa Monica studios yet, a PC port for God of War Ragnarök may soon be coming.
Jetpack Interactive, the studio that partnered with Sony to bring God of War 2018 to PC, is still working with Santa Monica studios on the God of War franchise, as per their LinkedIn. Even the current CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), Jim Ryan, has said that a PC port for God of War Ragnarök is very much in the picture, according to an interview with Famitsu. Jim Ryan said,
“We are increasing the number of PS5-exclusive titles and staggering the release of the PC version. I often have the opportunity to ask game fans for their opinions, and when I ask them about the time lag, they say that selling the PC version two or three years after the release of the PS version is accepted favorably.”
Considering this, God of War Ragnarök may come to PC sometime in 2024 or 2025. Although there’s no concrete release window for God of War Ragnarök’s PC port, gamers should maintain their hope. Furthermore, considering the success of other First party PlayStation games on PC, Sony would definitely bring another God Of War to PC soon!
