This VCT season was impressive, and the entire event was explosive. And now, it’s the off-season. Moreover, throughout the off-season, teams like PRX, Sentinels, and others have been modifying their rosters. Many Orgs did really well during VCT 2023. However, NRG, the team many had high hopes for, didn’t perform well during the final event. And now fans are wondering who’ll be the IGL of NRG for VCT 2024!

Fans will always recall the Valorant Champions 2023 championship game as one that left a lasting effect! The highlight of the VCT 2023 season was the underdog teams, which won match after match. Some high-value teams, nevertheless, were unable to live up to everyone’s expectations! Some Orgs had such bad performances that they were either unable to go through the first round or unable to qualify for the higher levels.

Moreover, teams like Evil Geniuses totally surprised everyone by claiming the event for themselves. Although people had much hope for NRG, the team with OpTic Gaming’s roster, NRG’s performance wasn’t up to par. Moreover, with Pujan “FNS” Mehta, their IGL, leaving NRG, fans are now wondering who will be the team’s new IGL in VCT 2024!

NRG’s debacle during the VCT 2023:

NRG had a great run during the initial VCT 2023 tournament. With claiming the 2nd spot in the Americas League and 4th spot in the Master Tokyo event, NRG did well in the respective events, but fans had expected more from the team. NRG’s roster had many experienced players from OpTic Gaming‘s VCT 2022 roster, the team that competed for the second spot during the Valorant Champions 2022 finals.

However, despite having such a strong roster, the team lost miserably during the Valorant Champions 2023 main event. Furthermore, due to their overconfidence and some nicks in their strategy, the team lost to Bilibili Gaming. Bilibili Gaming had, for the first time, made its way to an international event, but everyone underestimated it. The loss to Bilibili Gaming was miserable, and the team had to pack up and leave as they were out of the tournament.

Furthermore, since their massive debacle against Bilibili, the Organization has had some really major roster changes. Their loss came due to overconfidence and poor in-game decisions. This led to the team getting ousted from the tournament against a team with no experience. This loss has led to some major changes in the organization in this VCT off-season.

FNS, the IGL for both OpTic Gaming and NRG, is one of the best IGLs in the Pro Valorant scene. However, with the grave loss in the VCT 2023, FNS has switched careers for a while. FNS will now focus on a streaming career like Tarik and Zombs. Moreover, with their last IGL, FNS, leaving the Org to focus on his streaming career, fans want to know who would be NRG’s new IGL for their VCT 2024 run!

Will Ethan or Marved claim the mantle of IGL for NRG’s VCT 2024 run?

During this off-season, many Orgs have seen a major shift in their rosters. Moreover, NRG’s roster change has been massive so far. With players like S0m, Ethos, and FNS leaving the Valorant roster, the org is looking at many new entries. Furthermore, Demon1, the star player of Evil Geniuses, has recently joined NRG! This was huge news for the entire Valorant community since Demon1 contributed immensely to Evil Geniuses winning the VCT 2023!

Furthermore, with FNS, their former IGL, leaving the team, there are now many speculations as to who’ll grab the mantle of IGL for NRG’s VCT 2024 season. Right now, there’s a massive competition between Marved, who, after leaving Sentinels, joined NRG in December 2023, and Ethan, another former member of Evil Geniuses, who’s now a part of NRG. As of right now, Ethan is the IGL for the team; however, that’s only for the off-season.

VCT 2024 will bring forth a significant change in the ORG’s roster management. Furthermore, NRG can also opt for the no-IGL format similar to what Paper Rex, the second spot holder in Valorant Champions 2023, follows. There’s still much debate going on over who can be the most probable IGL for NRG. Moreover, with Boostio being the IGL in Evil Geniuses, fans have yet to see how well Ethan could manage and lead a team towards victory.

Moreover, Marved, who was Sentinels IGL during the VCT 2023, couldn’t produce many results. However, that was due to the team being relatively new for everyone. The entire roster for Sentinels was unknown to each other, leading to problems in coordination and communication. Sentinels had a really rough time in 2023, not even being able to qualify for the main tournaments of the VCT. Furthermore, after their vast debacle, they have revamped their whole roster.

Additionally, with Sentinels getting a revamp, Marved has finally switched over to NRG. With NRG’s roster being fresh too, the team needs time to settle in and know about each other’s strengths and weaknesses. And with enough time for the VCT 2024 to start, NRG’s roster can really work amongst themselves to know each other. So, this can be an excellent time for Marved to shine.

Fans are unsure about who NRG’s IGL would be, but the team is really strong right now. With some of the most experienced Valorant Pros in the team, NRG, this time, can wreak some havoc. From Demon1, Marved to Ethan, Victor & Crashies, the team is entire of experienced Pros. So NRG’s VCT 2024 run would really be a spectacle with a great IGL!
