His team released a video on his YouTube channel showing the magnitude of the riot. And sure enough, the huge situation left fans shocked. So authorities’ involvement in this matter was an obvious take. Moreover, due to this, the streamer, Kai Cenat, is now facing arrest on the count of multiple charges against him.

What are the charges on Kai Cenat?

As per the reports from NBC New York, Kai Cenat had been advertising a “HUGE GIVEAWAY” for 4 pm ET in Union Square Park on his channels, with promises of free PlayStation 5 and other gaming accessories. More than an hour before the giveaway was scheduled to start, people started to gather there. Numerous recordings of the event also depict large crowds and disorderly behavior, such as people jumping on moving vehicles and buildings, hurling things, and tightly packed groups.

And the situation soon spiraled out of control, with people getting into a huge riot. Reports indicate that authorities dispatched over a thousand officers to respond to the riots and arrested numerous individuals. Kai Cenat and some popular members of AMP were among the arrested. As of right now, the streamer is facing multiple charges, including two counts of incitement to riot and unlawful assembly. And to fuel the fire, a report confirmed that this incident was made worse by a shooting injury, which was later determined to be a fireworks injury.

The charges on the streamer are severe. However, Streamers like HasaAbi have stated it wasn’t that bad, only to get refuted by xQc. The public opinion and following of Kai Cenat are huge, so it’s uncertain how this whole thing would go on for a while. As of right now, the streamer has been released from custody, but the scene isn’t quite down. However, the scale of this incident is for sure, really huge.
