xQc BLASTS Ice Spice for “trying too hard” in her recent music video, Deli

The popular American rapper Ice Spice has recently released her new music video, Deli. The song features models twerking around in a bodega. The music video crossed over 2 million views; however, it attracted some backlash too. People have been criticizing Ice Spice for having a 16-year-old girl twerk in the music video. Now, popular Kick and Twitch streamer xQc has also jumped in to bash the popular rapper.

The current algorithm in the past decade has seen a shift towards normalizing explicit content. Especially after the digitalization of the world, it has become a global issue. Although it does have its positives and has quite possibly eased most of the tasks in the world, it seems like Ice Spice’s new Deli music video doesn’t sit well with xQc.

xQc calls out Ice Spice’s effect on the youth

Streamer xQc BLASTS Ice Spice for "trying too hard" in her recent music video, Deli

On the 27th of July, 2023, xQc on his Kick stream was reacting to Ice Spice’s latest music video, “Deli“. He had a lot to say on the ethics of it, but also in defense of Ice Spice. He begins by instantly pausing on the video and calling out the blatantly obvious fact, its “excessive display of sexuality”

xQc added, “Okay, this song is just not… I’m going to keep it a buck, chat, the song is two minutes long, and I think the chorus or whatever, or like, the hook happens, like four times. Or five times. How is that even possible?”

xQc mentions how he has an issue with the ‘weird display of sexuality’ in music videos of Ice Spice. Despite not blaming it on her, and affirming he ‘wasn’t trying to virtue signal’, he does say “I have somewhat of a problem seeing children singing lyrics like, ‘blowing her back,’ and sh*t like that“. xQc at the same time also said he understood that music videos had to be that way.

To the surprising defense of Ice Spice, Felix rushes to mention the hypocrisy of viewers to speculate this issue upon Ice Spice but was never present to virtue signal the same issue when the Kardashians were up for debate. Or even the recent trend of TikTok, which he believes had a similar issue of “weird display of sexuality” that the youth were quick to catch like a disease.

Fans React

The reaction from Felix was both applaudable and rational, as he gave a realistic reaction. Fans were quick to pick this up as many commented, “Common xQc W” and others said, “I agree; it’s very sad where society is heading”. It seems like xQc is capturing a good wave of praise, and probably for good reason.
