xQc discloses getting hate due to the viral animation

The streamer was disappointed at the undue hate he received. over the incident

The animation n question was made by HeydoubleU, an xQc community member. He had previously gotten banned after a 3D animation of his got misunderstood by xQc. The animator then made the video which later went viral, of a cute Peepo getting hurt due to getting banned over a misunderstanding much like he had gotten. He even made a sequel, where the Peepo gets unbanned by xQc.

In a recent stream, xQc commented how the animation made him receive tons of hate at that moment. The hate stemmed from the streamer supposedly “hurting the feelings” of the Peepo frog featured in the animation. The streamer explained-

"Did you know I got a wave of fucking death threats on all my socials!"

xQc pointed out his frustration at the whole situation, exclaiming “I was literally getting threats because of a hurt Peepo, which is a literal character!”. He voiced his disappointment at people harassing him over a fictional character, claiming there were thousands of comments “defending a virtual creature made of pixels”.

This puts forward another case of online audiences getting extremely parasocial, going to extreme measures even for minor things, such as the Peepo animation in this case. It remains to be seen whether this problem will lessen over time as viewers mature, or if it will snowball into greater issues.
