2. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

This GTA title released in 2004, has the most passionate and ambitious touch to its storyline. The game starts with a sad tone where the protagonist’s (Carl Johnson) mother passes away due to an open firing, for which he has to travel back to Los Santos from Liberty City. Along his journey to avenge his mother, he has to kill officer Tenpenny who is a corrupt police officer. 3. Grand Theft Auto V

GTA 5 probably has the most well-paced plot in the series. It has the most straight to the point storyline with a genius opening sequence that sets up one of the main conflicts of the title. GTA 5 gradually introduces the player to 3 very dynamic protagonists, Franklin, Michael and Trevor, which makes the story and gameplay even more interesting. The idea of having multiple protagonists and their separate lives and their own missions in order to reach a common goal is very perfectly framed in the storyline of this game.

4. Grand Theft Auto Vice City

Probably the most played GTA game of all time, this game is the most action packed and well framed storyline in the Grand Theft Auto series. GTA Vice City portrays revenge, anger, macho behavior and betrayal. Tommy Vercetti returns to Vice City and is involved in a drug trade, when some goons try to hunt him down with guns. Fortunately, Tommy manages to escape the area safely but the main question remains; Who stole Tommy’s coke?

5. Grand Theft Auto III

The first GTA game to have a Three Dimensional display, also the first game to be complemented for its storyline. Released in 2001, this game saw its protagonist rise up the ranks of the mob and get even with the person who wronged him.
