Gareth Southgate’s high flying England squad have atlast broken their long running jinx against Germany, as the Three Lions bypassed the Germans with a emphatic 2-0 win at the Wembley in London, consequentially booking a berth in the Quarter finals of the Euro 2020.

England dominated the game throughout, always having the invisible upper hand over Joachim Low’s men throughout the course of the match. The game was evenly balanced in the first half, with both teams only having a handful of soft chances on either goal, with no result.

England defeated Germany 2-0 to progress to the Quarter Finals

England looked more determined of the two in the second half, regularly penetrating the German backline with bursts of raids from Sterling and Kane time to time. However, all hell broke lose when Jack Grealish was subbed in for Bukayo Saka in the 69th minute, clear from the fans cheer. Grealish added the cutting edge England lacked in their attack throughout the game, clear from the chances England were now creating.

And eventually the Three Lions went ahead in the 75th minute when Grealish played a superb ball to Luke Shaw on the flanks, who laid it on a plate for Sterling to tap in.

Ten minutes later, England doubled, almost sealing off the game this time with 5 minutes of normal time to go. It was Grealish again pulling the strings. Shaw won a ball high up the pitch and played it on for Grealish inside the box, who feed a perfectly timed cross for Harry Kane to head it in while the Germans could only watch in despair.

Twitteratis have gone berserk following England’s lavishing performance against the Germans, who have been a thorn in their path for quite long. Now, with England finally shaking off their jeers against the Germans, many have already started to speculate that ‘It is Finally coming back Home!’.
