Italy have qualified for the Knockouts with a perfect result in their group stages, winning all three and conceding none. They demolished Turkey and Switzerland 3-0 each in their first two fixtures, followed with a 1-0 over Wales in their last group fixture. The Azzurris looked consistent throughout, as they became the first team in European history to win all three group games without conceding. Chiellini and Bonucci have again refurbished the solid look in the Italian defence, their midfield supply line with Barella, Locatelli and Verratti look in fine form and the forwards in Immobile and Insigne amongst goals, and it can’t be a better time than now for them to retain their long lost glory.

Austria, also have displayed a good performance in the current edition of the European Championships. They were assigned a rather easy group C, alongside Ukraine, Netherlands and North Macedonia. They started their European campaign with a commanding win over minnows North Macedonia, followed by a rather unpleasant 2-0 defeat against the Dutch but secured their qualification into the knockouts with a 1-0 win over Ukraine in their last group game, finishing second in the table. With Alaba and Sabitzer looking good, Austria can hope to put up a fight against the Italians.

Italy, who are the first team in history of Euros to win all three group stage matches without conceding even once, will look to continue their streak, having won their last 11 matches and unbeaten in last 30. It would be a rather uphill task for the Austrians against the Azzurris, who haven’t conceded in the last 1000 minutes of game time, and will have to pitch in every at hand to do the unthinkable in their first knockout game in European history. We are predicting a comfortable 2-0 win for the Italy, but are not counting out Austria.
