Euro 2020 Spain Vs Italy Player Ratings: Italy defeated Spain 4-3 on penalties to advance onto the finals
Euro 2020 Spain Vs Italy Player Ratings
Italy came out as the eventual winners from a gruelling and tiring semi final fixture against Spain, as Mancini’s men edged past the Spanish Armada on penalties to book a berth in the finals of the Euro 2020, with a chance at a shot to glory.
Federico Chiesa put Italy ahead in the 60th minute with a beautiful curling finish to the far corner, much against the run of play, but substitute Alvaro Morata drew parity for Spain after twenty minutes, after playing a quick one two with Olmo. None of the teams could find another decisive goal over the course of next forty minutes(normal time+extra time), with the game going onto the penalty shootouts. Morata, the one who was the saviour for Spain earlier, saw his decisive penalty saved by Donnarumma, before Jorginho coolly defied Simon to send him the other, as the Italians burst in celebration.
