Adrian Newey claims ‘great lads’ Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will ‘sort out’ tensions over Austrian GP clash
Adrian Newey believes that Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will move on from their incident at the Austrian GP.

Max Verstappen and Lando Norris ended up in the biggest incident of the 2024 season at the Austrian GP. The two drivers collided as they fought for victory in the final stages of the race. Tensions increased between Norris and Verstappen. However, Adrian Newey reckons that they will get back to normal soon.
Newey claimed that it is likely that Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will have a chat over the incident at Silverstone. Helmut Marko has previously confirmed that both drivers will discuss the incident. Although, Norris has made it clear that his friendship with the reigning world champion could be at risk if the Dutchman does not take the blame.

Additionally, Adrian Newey asserted that both Verstappen and Norris are ‘great lads.’ As such, the aero-genius was confident that the two drivers will sort things out between themselves over the course of the British GP weekend.

The Austrian GP was the first real incident between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. The latter was particularly disappointed as he was forced to retire the car. While Verstappen had a calmer approach post race. Although, the Dutchman made it clear that he was a hard racer who would not back down in such situations.
Adrian Newey pointed out that this incident had made everyone fractious, be it the two drivers or their respective teams. However, the 65-year-old claimed that it was just one of those things when it was difficult to allocate the blame. However, Newey was optimistic that both Verstappen and Norris would be fine.

Certainly, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will need to go over some facts regarding the incident. It is likely that the two will move on and get back to normal as they continue to fight for wins. However, another such clash could deteriorate further.
