Adrian Newey claims Red Bull had become like a ‘family’ to him in Red Bull
Adrian Newey’s work within Red Bull since 2005 has gained him a lot of love and respect within the constructor. As a result, a majority of the people in Milton Keynes wouldn’t want to see the 65-year-old exit the team. Newey previously opened up regarding his tenure at Red Bull and how he hugely enjoyed working with the Austrian constructor. The Briton highlighted that he had been centrally involved with Milton Keynes and felt ‘comfortable’ working there.
The teams I’ve worked for, I’ve hugely enjoyed and of course Red Bull because that’s a team I’ve been at, more or less, from the start. It’s a team that I’ve been very centrally involved in developing the engineering side of the team, so it’s a team I kind of feel comfortable with. We all know how we work.Adrian Newey told on Formula for Success podcast (H&T: planetf1.com).

Newey didn’t further decline the possibility of him leaving Red Bull in the near future. However, leaving the team meant leaving a huge chunk of his service behind. According to the 65-year-old, leaving Red Bull in the future might equate to him walking out on his family. This meant that Newey and the Red Bull crew shared a ‘family like’ bond with each other in Formula 1.
I suppose to change now – I’m not saying I would never, ever change because you should never say that – but it would be like walking out on your family, because that’s what it’s become.Adrian Newey noted.
Hence, Newey will be the epicenter of the F1 paddock for the coming weeks. The Englishman has garnered interest from not only Mercedes but Ferrari and even Aston Martin. Hence, the 65-year-old has no shortage of teams to join if he ever plans to leave Red Bull. Regardless, Adrian Newey would ideally want to continue with Milton Keynes beyond this season.
