Andrea Kimi Antonelli admits it’s ‘IMPOSSIBLE’ to replace Lewis Hamilton following 2025 Mercedes signing

Italian sensation Andrea Kimi Antonelli will drive for Mercedes, having signed a deal from 2025 onwards. Kimi Antonelli has been chosen as the replacement for Lewis Hamilton, who will join Ferrari on a multi-year deal in the upcoming season.
Lewis Hamilton is one of the most decorated drivers in the history of Formula 1. Having joined the Silver Arrows in 2013, Hamilton has won six world championships (overall seven), establishing a legacy of his greatness on track.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli has since praised the British driver for his achievements with the Brackley-based team. He further claimed his motive was to write his own chapter instead of making efforts to replace Hamilton.

The 18-year-old has garnered immense support and appreciation from many, including Lewis Hamilton, after his signing. He will now look to start a fresh chapter with the Brackley-based team, hoping to excel at the pinnacle of motor racing from next year onward.

Mercedes has been on an improving curve ever since the Canadian Grand Prix this season. Lewis Hamilton topped the charts during a tricky FP2 session and has since shed light on the team’s pace ahead of qualifying.

The seven-time world championship was pleased with the W15’s pace and performance around the temple of speed. He highlighted the challenges faced by the car on the newer asphalt but praised the team for their efforts at Monza.
Hamilton eyes a third win of the 2024 season at the Italian Grand Prix after a lackluster start. The Brit topped the timing sheet in FP3 as well, which is a good sign for the team ahead of a crucial qualifying.
