Lewis Hamilton is one of the biggest names in the world of Formula 1. The seven-time world champion is known around the globe and has millions of fans. Hamilton has used his platform to be open about mental health and encourage people to start a conversation around their struggles. Now, former F1 driver Anthony Davidson has praised the 39-year-old’s endeavors.

Davidson recalled that he and Lewis Hamilton essentially grew up together in karting. The former Super Aguri driver claimed that eight-year-old Hamilton changed the entire landscape in British karting as he came as an ‘absolute trailblazer.’

I’ve grown up in the kart tracks with Lewis. I’ve been around him my whole life, I saw him arrive in those paddocks as an eight-year-old kid and as a trailblazer in our sport, an absolute trailblazer, and hats off to him.

Subsequently, Anthony Davidson emphasized that he does feel sad when he sees the 39-year-old openly talk about his mental health struggles. However, Davidson is proud to see Lewis Hamilton continue to address this significant aspect in everyone’s life. Recently, a historic British charity labeled Hamilton as a hero for continuing to be open about mental health.
