Red Bull is known for developing young talent in the best way possible. The team has produced multiple dominant, championship-winning drivers from its junior program. Among many rising stars, Arvid Lindblad seems to stand out due to his impressive performances in the rookie season of Formula 3.
Arvid Lindblad, hailing from Surrey, England, was introduced to motorsports at just seven years old. The British Swedish driver made his debut in Italian F4 in 2022 at the age of 15. Lindblad joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2021 and had even got the opportunity to drive the RB8 in Houston.
Arvid Lindblad joined Formula 3 with Prema Racing in 2024 and got up to speed from the get-go. The 17-year-old secured a sprint win in his very first race in Bahrain. His standout moment came in Barcelona, where he not only started on the front row but also claimed his maiden F3 victory. With his Barcelona win, Lindblad became the youngest feature race winner in Formula 3 history.
The Brit-Swede’s biggest highlight came at the British GP in Silverstone, where he claimed his second victory. This achievement made him the youngest F3 driver to win both events of a two-race weekend. The 17-year-old secured five podium finishes in the 2024 season alongside four race wins. Lindblad’s average finish in feature races was an impressive 6.9 finish. He finished his rookie season fourth in standings, scoring113 points.
The 2024 season of Formula 3 was extremely competitive with the top drivers finishing extremely close in the points table. Leonardo Fornaroli secured the championship while Lindblad’s teammate Gabriele Mini was the runner-up. Lindblad lost the third spot to Luke Browning by a deficit of just 15 points. The 17-year-old’s second teammate Dino Beganovic finished P6 with a difference of merely four points.
Who are Arvid Lindblad’s F1 heroes?
Arvid Lindblad’s early introduction to motorsport created a deep sense of love and respect for Formula 1 drivers in him. The 17-year-old has coined a couple of drivers as his heroes that he aspires to be like one day. Lindblad revealed that Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were his motorsport heroes. The British Swedish driver liked the tenacity and fearlessness showcased by both of them despite joining the pinnacle of motorsport at an early age.

My motorsport heroes are Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Despite both drivers entering Formula 1 at a young age, they both showed fearlessness, tenacity and an uncompromising desire to win despite their inexperience and youth. This has motivated me a lot in my own driving to push hard even when I have often been one of the youngest and least experienced drivers on the grid.
Arvid Lindblad said in an interview with Red Bull
Lindblad has already secured a contract with Campos Racing in Formula 2 for the 2025 season. The 17-year-old’s impressive performances at such a young age seem to strengthen his chances to join Formula 1. He has the right heroes to get inspired and follow, that makes him a leading candidate for a seat with RB in 2026 or in 2025 if things go south at Red Bull’s sister team.
